 NATIONAL AGE GROUP 2018

Another NAGS SUCCESS

Once again our event merchandise was a huge success (although it did polarise a few parents with its theme) at the end of the day it is a fashion item and generally the kids thought it was cool. We don’t take design options lightly as it’s after all a business for Teamline but sometimes in the apparel game it is good to push the boundaries (just a little bit)

A big thank you must go out to the 2 mums who came into help me with merchandise particularly on day one when things were a bit hectic. Funny how they wouldn’t leave after day one! RumoUr was they were hanging out for Happy Hour.

On DAY ONE the kids were coming to warm up with a big spring in their step and huge smiles on their faces, especially the kids coming for the first time.

By day 5 the kids wandered into warm up a bit slower – late nights at the pool and early morning starts takes its toll but the Teamline shop could still force smiles from the grumpiest of Kids.

The live streaming of the event has been a wonderful success with the Swimming NZ team improving the presentation as the event went on. It was a wonderful innovation and great to see how the SNZ team are always looking for ways to make their events better for all swimmers, coaches and spectators alike. Interesting to hear there were parents complaining about it. Complaining is always the easy thing to do. Compliments aren’t given often enough, especially to sport administration. I suggest all the parents that continuously complain should become a volunteer or swimming NZ pool deck official and see how difficult it is from the other side!

The experiment of Teamline being outside in the marquee has been interesting with the weather playing a big part in the success. With the sun out things were fantastic but when the rain and wind came I must admit to being a bit grumpy. This is something we will look at continuing with as the atmosphere outside the complex was definitely up a notch or two

A Big Congratulations must go out to all the swimmers who Smashed NZ records, but a HUGE congratulation must also go out to all the Swimmers who smashed their own PB’s.

Cheers for now.
