Goggle Lenses - which are best for each environment?

There's no denying it, when it comes to goggle lenses, the options are almost endless! So how do you choose the best lens for the situation? Aqua Sphere have a plethora of options in this space and we've broken it down for you.

START HERE!

Indoors, or cloudy, overcast days

A Clear lens is going to give you clear visibility and transmit natural light, exactly as you see it outside the water.

CLEAR PHOTO - NO FILTER

A Blue Tinted lens will increase the contrast and reduce glare

An Amber tinted lens will increase contract, reduce glare and also enhance the vision

Partially Sunny Conditions, or partly cloudy

First let's see the clear, no filter image:

A Smoke Lens will decrease light transmission, maintain colour saturation and increase natural light contrast

A Green Polarised lens will reduce glare, cut the blue light and decrease light transmission

A Brown Polarised lens will also reduce glare and decrease the light transmission, yet wil also enhance the sharpness of what you're seeing

When it comes to bright sunny days, the options open up a lot and the titanium mirrored style of goggle comes into its own. These beauties reduce glare, enhance colour contrast.

All of these next goggles provide

  • Maximum light protection
  • Boosts colour contrast

Then they have their own unique feature beyond, see below:

Again, let's see the clean, no filter image:

A Pink Titanium Mirror increases the contrast against blue water

A Red Titanium Mirror cuts the infra red light

Blue Titanium Mirror enhances the warm colour against blue

Orange Titanium Mirror reduces glare

Gold Titanium Mirror further reduces glare, which appear to be particularly good for people with sensitive eyes

Finally, Silver Titanium Mirror cuts infra red light with a more natural look.

So there you have it, Aqua Sphere's lens selection guide. I hope this helps when choosing the right lens for you and your swimming conditions!
